The service fee is collected from execution layer rewards only. By default, an immutable smart contract is used to automatically split ELR between the staker and P2P.org according to previously agreed terms. The contract tracks both CL and EL reward accumulation to ensure the agreed percentage is applied accurately across the total reward.
Validator fees are only deducted from rewards and not from your stake.
ETH validator fees are calculated as a percentage (%) of the total Consensus Layer (CL) + Execution Layer(EL) rewards. The standard fee structure is 5% for vanilla staking and 7% for SSV staking on all validator rewards.
Fees are deducted from EL rewards because it is technically not possible to deduct from CL rewards.
If the validator fee is lower that the proposed block (EL) reward, the fees is deducted and the rest of the reward is distributed to the validator’s withdrawal address. For example if 0.005 ETH is owed in validator fees, and the validator accrues a 0.025 ETH EL reward, the 0.005 ETH validator fee will be deducted from EL reward and the remaining 0.02 ETH will be distributed to the validator’s withdrawal address.
If no block is proposed, the fees accumulate and will be deducted from the next block reward until all outstanding fees are recovered. For example if 0.02 ETH is owed in validator fees, and the validator accrues a 0.01 ETH EL reward, the full 0.01 ETH from EL reward will be deducted as fees and 0.01 ETH will still be outstanding and waiting for the next proposed block. The fees continue to accumulate since CL and EL rewards are still accruing. When the next EL reward is accrued, the outstanding fees are deducted from the EL reward again until no fees are outstanding.
EL rewards are collected on the smart contract divider first and should be distributed every two weeks after a fee is deducted (this usually occurs on the 1st and 15th of every month).

You can check daily data on our dashboard (https://app.p2p.org/accounts) by adding your staking address on the Wallets tab.

Go to Dashboard tab
Click Ethereum Details at the bottom of the screen
Go to Export Rewards tab and select time window. You can also download a CSV file of the rewards data.
