Before staking, you must have DOT tokens in your wallet. Nova Wallet is a Polkadot wallet that supports 100+ networks, 410+ cross chain transfer and seamless Polkadot staking. It has support for DApps through WalletConnect, governance voting and watch only wallets.
Download the Nova wallet for iOS or Android here
Create a new wallet or import an existing one.
Give your wallet a name. This is only visible to you and can be changed later. Click Continue
Choose a backup option
Save your Recovery Phrase somewhere secure. You will need it to recover your account or log in on a different device. If you lose it, you will lose access to your funds! Please do not share this Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone; anyone with access to it will have access to your funds!
Create and confirm a secure PIN for your wallet.
Copy your DOT address to fund your wallet.
JOINING DOT NOMINATION POOL
Bonding Requirements: Pooling DOT requires bonding, and once pooled, it takes 28 days to withdraw.
In Nova Wallet, go to the Staking tab
Click Polkadot
Click Start Staking
Input the amount you want to stake (from as little as 1 DOT)
Click Pool Staking
Select Pool Staking
Click on Next arrow to select a validator
Search for P2P.org in the search bar and select a nomination pool
Review staking details and click Continue
Review transaction and click Confirm
Your stake will show on the Staking tab
MANUALLY CLAIMING POOL REWARDS
Navigate to Staking tab. Current stakes should show on the top right corner.
Click on the stake
Click Claim Rewards
Review transaction details and choose action for rewards (restake(compound) or withdraw).
Click confirm.
LEAVING A DOT NOMINATION POOL
Navigate to Staking tab. Current stakes should show on the top right corner.
Click on the stake
Click Unstake
Input the amount you want to unstake(partial unstaking is supported) and click Continue
Review transaction details and click Confirm
Please note that DOT has a 28-day unbonding period. You will retain ownership of your assets throughout this period, with the lock-in only preventing you from transferring the funds to other accounts for the specified time.
