Overview
A multisig (short for multi-signature) wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet that requires multiple signatures to authorize transactions. This makes it an excellent choice for securely managing team resources. Squads is an open-source smart contract wallet standard built on Solana, designed to help teams and organizations seamlessly handle their digital assets. This guide explains the features of Squads, walks you through creating a multisig wallet for your team, and demonstrates how to stake SOL with P2P.org.
Create a Squad
To get started, visit app.squads.so and connect your wallet there
1. Once connected, click + Create Squad.
2. Enter the required information, such as the Squad name, image, and description, then click Create Squad.
3. Add team members (wallets authorized to sign transactions) and set a confirmation threshold (how many confirmations is needed to authorize the transaction). For this example, we’ll use just one wallet, however in real-life situations, it is absolutely necessary to use at least two. You will need just a public key to add authorized wallet.
4. Review your Squad details and confirm by signing the transaction. After signing, your Squad vault will be ready to use.
Explore the Dashboard
Once the multisig wallet is set up, familiarize yourself with the features available in the dashboard:
• Dashboard: Provides an overview of your multisig setup.
• Transactions: Allows creation and approval of transactions.
• Members: Manage wallet owners by adding or removing them.
• Treasury: View the total balance of all accounts.
• Trade: Set up and manage limit orders and token swaps.
• Stake: Stake SOL to earn rewards.
• Developers: Manage programs, validators, and tokens.
• Squads Pro: Access advanced features like sub-accounts, spending limits, and fee relayers.
• Settings: View vault details such as address and voting thresholds.
Deposit SOL into the Multisig Wallet
To deposit SOL:
• Send SOL directly to your vault address by copying it or using the QR code.
• Alternatively, click Deposit on the dashboard or treasury page, select Deposit SOL, enter the amount, and approve the transaction. The balance will update once the transaction is complete.
Stake SOL with P2P.org
To stake SOL using your multisig wallet:
1. Click Stake on the side panel to access the validator options.
2. Navigate to the Validator tab and use the search bar to find P2P.org.
3. Select the validator labeled P2P.org. A staking module will appear.
4. Enter the amount of SOL to stake and click Stake. Approve the transaction using your wallet.
5. In real-life situation, you will need to connect the second authorized wallet to meet the approval threshold and approve the transaction.
6. Once both wallets have approved, the transaction will finalize, and you can verify the staking status on the dashboard.
