Backpack Wallet Solana (SOL) Staking Guide

Backpack Wallet is an all-in-one web3 app that functions as a self-custodial wallet, allowing users to buy, hold, sell, and transfer cryptocurrencies.

Before starting, you will have to own some SOL, which you can purchase on multiple cryptocurrency exchanges.

Step 1: Create Backpack wallet

To start, you will need to download the Backpack Extension.

Create a new wallet or import an existing one.

Select Solana on the list of networks to add.

You will be asked to save your Secret Recovery Phrase. Save it somewhere secure! You will need this to recover your account or logi in on a different device. If you lose it, you will lose access to your funds! Do not share this Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone;anyone who has access to it will have access to your funds!

Create a secure password


Step 2: Stake SOL

  1. On the homepage, click on Solana.


2. Click on Stake SOL to Earn...

3. Search and select P2.org as a validator.

4. Input the desired stake amount and click stake.

5. Review the transaction details and click Approve


​Once you see this message, your delegation transaction has now successfully been sent out!

Step 3: Manage assets and enjoy rewards

  1. To undelegate your SOL, go to the Backpack Wallet’s main menu and select Solana then Staking.

2. Tap on the deposited amount that you want to deactivate.

3. Verify the details and confirm the transaction by selecting Unstake.

4. Click Approve to confirm the transaction.

Your stake should now be in deactivating status. In 1-2 epochs(an epoch is ±2 days), you can withdraw tokens and use them freely.
