In this article we will explain the process of unstaking your GLMR.

One round in the Moonbeam network lasts approximately 6 hours. A round is a period of time the network uses to manage the list of registered collators and staking rewards payouts.

If you wish to free up some staked GLMR, you can either decrease your delegation from a specific collator, or revoke a delegation entirely. To perform these steps you will first have to "schedule a request" to free up some or the entirety of your stake, and then "execute the request" to be enforced.

It takes approximately 28 rounds (7 days) after the one in which you scheduled the request to unstake for you to be able to execute that request. Once you have executed the request, your GLMR will be available.

Things to take into account:

1. A delegator must cancel their current request and create a new one if they wish to update their current request.
2. Only the delegator can cancel their requests to partially or fully undelegate, however anyone can submit the execution of the request.
