We have created a step-by-step guide to help you stake your Moonriver (MOVR) using the dApp built by the Moonbeam Foundation. Prerequisite: Install and own a Metamask wallet.

Important information to know before we get started:

Minimum delegation stake - 5 MOVR.
Maximum delegators per collators - 100 MORV.
Round duration - 2 hours.
Bond/Unbond duration - 2 rounds.
Rewards for each round are distributed amongst the largest 100 delegators for a particular collator 2 rounds later.
Rewards are not compounded (to be clarified).
You can delegate up to 25 collators, dividing your stake amongst your selection.
The less total stake your active collator has, the higher return.
There is no slashing.

I. Connect to the Dashboard:

1. Navigate to the following page: https://apps.moonbeam.network/moonriver. If you are not signed in already, Metamask will ask you to sign in. Once signed in, you will be asked which account you wish to connect to the dApp with. Select the applicable account and click on "Next". Verify your address and select "Connect".

2. Moonriver tokens are not ERC-20, therefore you will have to add Moonriver as custom networks. You will be automatically prompted to the right network by the Dapp. Select "Approve" and "Switch Network" to change the network to Moonriver.

3. You will then be redirected to the Moonriver Dashboard where you’ll find details about your accounts balance, last transactions, crowdloan rewards data, and staking data. In the top right hand corner, make sure that you have "Moonriver" selected. To stake MOVR that are in pending status, you will first need to claim them.

You are now ready to start staking your MOVR!

II. Staking your Moonriver.

1. Scroll down on the dashboard to the staking section and select "manage delegation".

2. On the staking page, you will be able to see your available and staked balance, as well as the amount of delegations you have. Additionally you can also view your staking rewards history. To start staking, go to the delegation section, and click on "select" a collator.

3. A pop up will appear with the set of (1) active and (2) waiting collators. Only active collators will be selected to validate blocks, and in return generate rewards. To maximise your rewards it is important to understand how to select the right collator for your strategy. Make sure you verify the min bond (3), your stake should be larger than the indicated value to be eligible to receive rewards.

4. Once you have selected a collator, input the amount and select "Delegate"

Note that if you select less than the minimum amount required for that specific collator you will receive the following error.

5. Metamask will pop up and you will need to verify the details of your transaction. Check that the collator address and the amount you would like to stake is correct. If its okay, select "Confirm"! The transaction may take a few minutes, you will see that it is completed with a "transaction confirmed" notification. Your staking dashboard and metamask wallet balance will be updated to reflect the changes.

That's it! After approximately 2 rounds (4 hours), your stake will be active and you will start generating rewards. More info here.

III. Checking the status of your delegation

1. On your staking page, you can monitor the state of your delegation(s). You will get a notification if the minimum stake of your collator has increased and your stake is now no longer large enough to receive rewards.

IV. Managing your stake and delegation list

A) Revoking delegations

If you decide to end your delegation to a specific collator, you can revoke it by selecting the "x" button. It will take approximately 24 rounds (48 hours) to take effect. More info here.

You will see a notification next to your delegation while it is being revoked.

B) Updating your stake

If you would like to add or remove stake, you can do so by selecting the "+" or "-" button next to your delegation.
